How to send email from an alias on your FourteenRockets mailbox on your Mac, and why we recommend Apple Mail instead of Outlook for this.
What is an alias?
An alias is an extra email address that delivers to your existing mailbox. For example, hello@yourdomain.com as an alias on yourname@yourdomain.com. Receiving works straight away and needs no setup. Sending from the alias is where your email app matters, and that is what this guide covers.
We have already added the alias to your mailbox for you. If you would like an extra alias, just let us know.
The honest answer about Outlook on Mac
Outlook for Mac cannot send from an alias on a standard mailbox. Microsoft has confirmed that the feature simply is not available. There are workarounds, but they involve adding your mailbox a second time, which leaves you with a cluttered sidebar and confusing settings. We do not recommend going down that road.
Our advice is to switch to Apple’s own Mail app. It is already on your Mac, it supports aliases natively, and it works with your mailbox exactly as it is. Below we explain how, and we also cover the calendar question, because that is usually the reason people hesitate to leave Outlook.
Webmail

Move to Apple Mail
Your mailbox needs to be set up in Apple Mail. If it is not yet, do that first and come back to this guide. Your email lives on the server, so Mail shows the same messages and folders you see in Outlook. There is nothing to move over
But what about my Outlook calendar?
This is the worry we hear most often, and the answer is reassuring. With a standard mailbox, the calendar in Outlook for Mac is stored only on your Mac. It does not sync anywhere. Apple’s Calendar app, also already on your Mac, does the same job alongside Mail, just as the calendar does in Outlook.
Apple Calendar can go one step further. It can sync with the calendar in your FourteenRockets webmail, so your appointments appear in webmail and on your other devices too.
